Today some of the 5th graders and a few of the 7th graders had a chance to learn about The Yellowstone National Park from Ranger Mike who was our guest via Skype. I found out about this amazing opportunity here : https://education.skype.com/projects/2237-yellowstone-national-park-rangers-can-skype-with-classrooms
We learned about the geology of the oldest National Park in the world, its geysers and hot springs, about the wildlife living there - bears, bison, elk, wolves and the final part of our lesson was dedicated to Vocational orientation - the 7th graders interviewed Ranger Mike about his job.

Did you know that the half of world's geysers are in Yellowstone National Park? This is OLD FAITHFUL geyser which got its name because it is the most predictable one, erupting 40 meters high every 91 minutes.
