Today my 8/4 class had a chance to do a Mystery Skype activity during their English class. The students say that it was fun, and even our school Principal stopped by to say HELLO to our friends from America.

Today's English class in 8/3 was somewhat different than the usual because our guests via Skype were Mr.Christensen's 7th grade students. It was a great opportunity for Serbian students to practice their spoken English and learn something new about the American culture.
Yesterday, we had our second Mystery Skype session but this time we were trying to locate Mrs. Hoffman's class (who are from Glasgow, Kentucky, USA) Since WIFI in our classroom wasn't working, we went to the library and used the internet connection there. On Wednesday, February 6, 2013. my 6th grade students did a Mystery Skype activity with their peers from Mr. Roberts' class from A.M.Kulp Elementary, Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA. Geography teacher Danijela Mihailovic was also present during our chat and helped the students in deciding what questions to ask. After discovering each other's locations, the students talked about the popular boy and girl's names, the number of students and teachers in our schools, the pets they have at home, etc.
Our local newspapers featured a story about our modern way of teaching a foreign language and making global friendships via Skype. |
