Today we discussed the novel "The Little Prince" with Mrs. Garza's class from Mexico via Skype. My students prepared 2 videos and discussions during Literature classes with their teacher Vesna Stanojevic, and today they presented their works for their peers from Mexico. Here are a few photos and the videos the students prepared. Enjoy!

Today was a special day for us as we had another chance to participate in making of a promo-video for 2 famous companies, ACER and SKYPE. My students played Skype Mystery game with a class from St.Mary's DSG, Pretoria. We are very impatient to see the video - should be released by the end of the year, in the meantime, here are the photos of our online meeting. Thanks to Stacey Ryan from Kansas, my 2nd grade students connected to a kindergarten class via Skype and asked them about Thanksgiving. Although the European Day of Languages is celebrated on Sept.26th, we had our online celebration a few days later, participating in a G+Hangout with our hosts from Sundern, Germany. On Friday, September 19th, the students of 8th grade and I chose to celebrate Peace One Day in a creative way. We decided to make an animated film and in this way send our peace message to the world. The song I suggested for animation was "Wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong and the students either drew pictures or wrote the lyrics, then they used their mobile phones to take photos, uploaded them to OneDrive and Luka finally made the video using WindowsMovieMaker. Today our school celebrated its 45th birthday, and we got a surprise birthday present from our penfriends from Buenos Aires, Argentina! The cards we received were from 4th grade students from Colegio José Manuel Estrada. We hope they will enjoy our drawings as much as we enjoyed theirs - the smiles on my students' faces show it better than any words! Here are 2 slideshows, the first with our drawings and the second with the cards we received. Yesterday I collected all the drawings my 3rd grade students prepared for their penfriends from "International House" in Montevideo, Uruguay and I will be sending them the parcel on Monday. The theme of the drawings is WHERE I LIVE and my students were very excited to send their cards to Montevideo because of a film "Montevideo, Bog te video" which is very popular in our country. Here is the soundtrack from the second part of the film "Montevideo, vidimo se" Penfriends - from Nis to Montevideo by Slidely Slideshow After nearly a month of waiting for the letter with the drawings from Uruguay, it finally arrived on Monday June 2nd. Here are the cards our friends from International House drew for us, enjoy! Today we finished our interactive poster and sent it to Oxford University Press as entry for PROJECT COMPETITION. The theme was COMMUNICATION IN THE 21st CENTURY. The link to our Glog is : http://anateacher78.edu.glogster.com/project-competition-entry-by-7-2-primary-school-cegar-nis-serbia Our today's lesson was about using technology for learning, not just for fun. My 7th grade students were allowed to use their mobile phones during the class and their task was to open a Twitter account and follow 5 users: 1. myself 2. @oscegar (our school) 3. any Museum (e.g. Natural History Museum- @NHM_London) 4. @LearnEnglish_BC 5.@rsBritish After explaining that Twitter can be a great resource for learning, we watched a video about Malala and set a homework for everyone to find more information about this girl and the cause she fights for as this will be the topic for discussion in our next class. Last Wednesday and Friday, my 7th grade students and I did some code writing - we were a part of the global promotion of Computer Science , we participated in the Computer Science Education Week.
